Wildflowers and Woodcarving Ontario

Wildflowers are finally blooming in the local forests. York Region has quite a number of forest tracts with well maintained hiking trails. Today we went to the Hollidge Tract and had a lovely 6 km hike. The trail has some gentle hills which we like. We have been hiking a different tract every other day this spring. A great way to get fresh air and exercise, complete with lots of photo opportunities.

By ncarvingext week, the trillium should be in full bloom along with the yellow trout lilies.
I really enjoyed the wood carvings by Jeff M. Taylor a local woodcarver from Barrie, Ontario. There are a number of carvings at the York Region Forest Headquarters at the Hollidge Tract.
