There is a winding river of pebbles in the pavement in Puerto Vallarta. It winds past shops and restaurants, connecting the sidewalks and the Malecon, and out onto the Los Muertos Pier. Each pebble in the river was laid by hand and, in places, are connected into a piece of art designed by a local Indian artist, Fidencio Benitez.
The Los Muertos Pier is in itself, a beautifully designed connection of sails and railings and cables. It is an everchanging display of coloured lights as the evening comes.
Some of the art can be seen in this photo taken from The Cheeky Monkey.
